Privacy Policy

Scrims is a pickup basketball app being built in San Jose, CA. This policy covers our website, scrimsapp.com, and our waitlist. When we say “we” or “us,” we mean the Scrims team. You can reach us at scrimsappios@gmail.com.

When you join the waitlist

• Your email address
• The date and time you signed up
• Where you signed up from (for now, always scrimsapp.com)
• Whether you checked the box to get updates and promos

If you sign up with a Gmail address, we save it without dots or anything after a “+” so the same inbox only gets added once. Your emails still reach you the same way.

Automatically, when you visit

• Basic visit stats, like which pages get viewed, what kind of device and browser you’re on, and roughly what country you’re in. These are counted in a way that doesn’t identify you personally.
• Your IP address, briefly, to stop people from spamming the signup form. We don’t save it with your email.
• A small note saved on your device after you sign up, so the site can say “You’re already on the list” next time. It stays on your device and you can clear it anytime in your browser settings.

• Your name, phone number, or location
• Payment info
• Advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
• Anything from your contacts or social accounts

• To let you know when Scrims launches in your area. Everyone on the waitlist gets this.
• To send updates about the app and future promos, like early access, giveaways, or deals. You only get these if you checked the box when you signed up.
• To keep the waitlist free of spam and duplicate signups
• To understand how many people visit the site so we can make it better

We don't use your email for anything unrelated to Scrims.

A few trusted services help us run the site. They only get what they need to do their job:

• Vercel hosts the website and provides our visit stats.
• Google stores the waitlist in a private Google Sheet that only our team can see.

If we start using an email service to send updates, we'll add it here. We may also share info if the law requires it.

We keep your email until you ask us to delete it or we stop running the waitlist, whichever comes first. When the app launches, we'll let waitlist members know what happens next before anything changes.

The site runs over a secure connection, and the waitlist is kept private with access limited to our team. No system is perfectly secure, but we only collect what we need so there's less to protect.

Scrims isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect info from kids under 13. If you think a child signed up, email scrimsappios@gmail.com and we'll delete it.

No matter where you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what info we have about you
• Fix anything that’s wrong
• Delete your email and take you off the list
• Stop sending you updates and promos, or start sending them if you didn’t check the box

To do any of these, email scrimsappios@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. Every email we send will also include a way to unsubscribe. We won't treat you any differently for asking.

California residents: we don't sell or share your personal info for advertising, and you have the right to know, correct, and delete what we have.

Your info is stored and processed in the United States by the services listed above.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, like when the app launches, we'll email the waitlist before it takes effect.
